The National Lottery funds sessions for people with Dementia! Volunteers Needed!

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

The National Lottery Community fund has given us £50k to extend our service to offer sessions to people with dementia. We will be offering animal interactions, outdoor activities, craft activities, nature walks, alpaca walks etc on a Friday from 26th April 2019.

Alzheimer's Support are partnering with us to help us promote the sessions and we will be working with a researcher from Bath University to assess the impact of interactions and to see how they improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers.

We will also be visiting local care homes taking in some of our animals to meet residents.

We are looking for Volunteers to help us to run the programme and are holding an open day on Saturday 23rd February from 11am. If you are interested in helping with handling the animals, gardening/horticulture activities or are good at crafts or would just like to help out, then do come along to find out more. We can show you around, explain what will be happening, and how you can get involved!

For more information download our flyer, look at our jobs/volunteering page or give Heather a call on 07888 678239 or email on info@wiltshireequineassistedlearning.co.uk!
