Making a referral to the "Animals and Outdoors" group
- for people living with dementia
If you have a diagnosis of dementia and would like to attend our free group then please email Heather Watson at or telephone Heather for information on 07888 678239.
You can either come to the morning group which runs 1030-1200 or the afternoon group which runs 1-2.30pm. You are very welcome to bring a partner or carer to attend with you and they are able to participate in all of our activities. This is not mandatory as there are staff on hand to support all of the participants throughout the sessions. Sessions run for 12 weeks.
The groups will offer social activities which are outdoors with animals or you can take part in horticulture/gardening projects or enjoy doing some crafting. We have indoor space for poor weather and will have refreshments available. There is an accessible toilet on site and a Registered Nurse available. Wheelchair users are welcome and all activities will be accessible.
You could also complete the referral form below and return to the address on the form. The next group begins on 8th November 2019. Sessions are free of charge for participants and their carers/companions.
Care homes may also refer one or two residents to the group - open to anyone with a diagnosis of dementia! Please note that the same residents will be required to attend all 12 sessions and care homes cannot bring a different person each week. If care homes would like to bring more residents then please look at our care home afternoons which will run on a Monday and are also free as Lottery Funded.
